Christmas In My Heart
This is such a special time of year - a season of family and friends and giving and sharing. And it is so special to share it with other quilting bloggers. We have our own special gift, Marian of Seams To Be Sew , who shares her energy and expertise in planning the Christmas Heart blog hop.
Christmas is everywhere. On a trip to Frenchies, our local second hand store, I spotted a Minnie Mouse on a child's shirt.
I thought such pretty design would make a cute hanging.
The latest issue of American Patchwork and Quilting featured a pattern for a Christmas Cottage table runner which proved impossible to resist. I love the little houses.
The colors are much richer but it was such a grey day out that all the pictures are muted.
It is fun stitching using all the colors in one design. This starry mat will function well all year. Christmas does not always have to be red and green.
This is a split nine patch which used up lots of Christmas stash. I made the top several years ago and it entered the UFO pile. I am happy to report a finished quilt (and one less UFO yea!!)
A flannel backing makes this really cozy for snuggling.
And I could not resist stitching Marian Pena's gift of a Christmas Star (free pattern) on my Sunbonnet Sue block. Thank you for the star.
So brew some tea and spend time exploring new Christmas Love creations on today's blogs.
Merry Christmas

What a neat Minnie Mouse wallhanging! I would have admired the shirt and then passed by, never thinking of making it into a quilt. Great idea! All of your projects are beautiful. Its hard to pick a favorite...so I won't! You have a great selection for us to admire and be inspired by. Thank you for making my Christmas merrier!

ReplyDeleteFrances, what lovely projects! I adore your wonderful quilt. How fun to have UFO completed just in time for the holidays! It never would have occurred to me to make a wall quilt from a print on a t-shirt. (Oh dear, I already look at earrings as crazy quilt charms, I suppose I may be in trouble now when I see cute t-shirts, too!) Your starry mat is fantastic! All of your projects are wonderful. Thank you for sharing!

ReplyDeleteWell Christmas is in your heart today... I love your projects and the stories behind making them... and yes, to be honest, blue and silver are my favorite Christmas colors and the funny thing is, I'm not even that big a fan of the color blue, but at Christmas... it just makes me happy. I love that you already did a little project with the star, how cool is that, and it looks so fun with your Sunbonnet Sue.. Thank you!!
