WICKED

WICKED

 MR OCTOBER

Welcome to the world of Wicked. If this is truly a Wicked hop we must start with a pin-up and Mr October fills the bill.   A truly ghoulish hop where stitchers languish with witches and bats in a sewing room controlled by Mdm. Samm and cheerleader Wendy .

And they are all singing the Song of the Witches:

Double, double toil and trouble;

Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and bling-worms sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

 Every witch needs to be properly prepared to serve brew. These tea towels are sweet hostess gifts.  Easily stitched with fabric and a bit of lace. I love words on fabric.

Could not resist this cheerful crossbones and skulls fabric.

Layered it and quilted it using painters tape to keep the stitching straight.  I find that the tape removes easily without leaving any residue.

The latest edition of Quilter's World had a pattern for an e-Reader Tech Bag. Perfect gift for a young friend.

 Trick or Treat bags for all the Halloween night loot.

Mr October began his journey last fall but just left the UFO pile last week. Could be the reason he is down to bones.

 Perfect buttons for Mr October.

Very simple ghostly pillow.

 With all those spooky fabrics I could not avoid a Halloween quilt. It reached the flimsy stage so might be cozy by next Halloween.

Unfortunately the Grim Ripper does not restrict her visits to only Halloween and haunts my home too much during the year. The Grim Ripper is a free pattern from Love of Quilting.

Sew while the witch prepares a magic brew grab your broom and fly over to visit the other hoppers.

 And remember there will always be room for a stitching witch.

Frances

Three Little Witches

One little, two little, three little witches.
Fly over haystacks, fly over ditches.
Fly over moonbeams without any hitches.
Hey, Ho, Halloween Night!

One little, two little, three little witches.
Fly over barb wire and tore their britches.
Had to go home and get some stitches.
Hey, Ho, Halloween Night!

I do have a question for you....did Mr. October drink some of that tea perhaps? It might have something to do with his drastic weight loss....... I must save that recipe.... Thanks for sharing!

  9. Mr. October is fantastic. He looks like a centerfold! He had me laughing and laughing! Maybe that's just my warped sense of humor. I love the array of seasonal projects. Your creativity is amazing. I hadn't even thought about making towels. When I see printed fabric, I'm always reminded of our guild president who adores printed word fabric, too. She will love the towels. Thanks for participating, all the eye candy, and the amazing inspiration. Happy, Happy Halloween!
